Unfortunately, driving a golf cart down the road is frowned upon, among other things. We wanted something close to a golf cart that provided that open feeling, and a Smart Car fit the bill. Ours is a 2009, and we did a bunch of custom work, including Lambo doors, a custom stereo, exhaust, springs, wheels, and more. It offers a unique driving experience, and its compact size makes it a joy to wash.
